Our present view of the world has created an enormous spiritual gap, and this is reflected in our entire civilization and culture. The materialistic view of life has gradually removed us from the question of unity and purpose. It has repressed the intuition and spirituality, and it means that for most people life and humanity do not constitute a unity. For these people life has no meaning.

However, according to the esoteric teaching there is a meaning to life – to the life of each individual. The soul incarnates with a purpose, and each individual, one and all, therefore incarnates with his own specific mission in life, and no matter how extensive or insignificant it may seem, it is always part of a meaningful unity; that is the superior development of the planet. No one lives in vain. Realizing this every enquiring person will ask himself: "What is my mission in life?" Only one person knows the answer, and thus there is only one to ask, and that is your own soul. Each individual must find the answer himself, and the answer is only found through inner cognition. Meditation is a method of inner cognition, and consequently also of personal development. And your personal development is your contribution to the development of life.

When people of today are faced with problems, we usually try to find the solutions outside ourselves. We believe that we have to change the world, because we do not realize that the world is an expression of our inner values and attitudes. The way of changing the world is first of all an inner process. The questions can only be answered from the depths of our hearts. Meditation can lead you to these depths of your heart. Meditation – yes, but how? Which methods can you use? Kentaur Net recommends Creative meditation.

What is creative meditation?

Creative meditation is an art, a way and a science, which make you creative and happy, which turn you into a more harmonious and sympathetic person, and which gradually alter your attitude to active social commitment of benefit to the world and your fellow human beings. It is an ancient and universal method, which is adjusted to modern consciousness and way of life.

Kentaur Net's Creative meditation is naturally not the only meditation method, which is suited for creating contact to your soul. Buddhism, Christianity and Hinduism have also given important contributions. Creative meditation applies especially to the people of the West, who are not already anchored in a religious tradition, but now experience an inner need for mental and spiritual introspection.

Creative meditation broadens your attention and little by little reveals the purpose of your life. It is a systematic method, which gently develops your creative potentials. And from the meditation's inner world a new outer world can be born. How can we make such statement? It is very simple, because the natural science tells us that everything is energy, and the esoteric teaching adds that energy follows the thought. When everything is energy, and energy can be controlled by the thought, we can begin to perceive that with our capacity of thinking we have a tool with potential possibilities far beyond our comprehension. Just try for a moment to reflect on the nature of thought. Your thoughts travel as the light and can have enormous power as thoughts transfer energy and can evoke the best and the worst of your fellow human beings. Focused energy is highly effective. Focused group energy is even more effective. Consequently there is an evident need for responsible and wise control of the thought through meditation.

You are the thinker – not the thought
To be able to take responsibility of your thoughts you must first realize that you are not your thoughts. You are the thinker. Thus it must be you creating your thoughts - and therefore the thinker and the thought must be separated. Even though it is common in our time to identify with these characteristics, you are not your thoughts, your feelings or your body, as they are merely part of your outer personality. What are you then? You are your soul. And soul is just another word for consciousness. It is your consciousness that holds the key to life's deepest secrecy: That you are an immortal soul, taking part in the services of life.

Everybody takes part, and therefore everybody has innate creative capabilities. And thus we can all be creative in everything we do. All activity is creative activity. Every day we create our own life. Every day we make our own thoughts. Every day we create our own feelings. Our own actions. Our own karma (causes and effects). We even create the conditions of our future lives. In other words life is one giant creating process. And we all participate in this process. Consciously or unconsciously. Creative meditation aims at making you a conscious part of the creative process of life. The purpose of Creative meditation is therefore to develop the human consciousness and bring spiritual values such as love and wisdom into living activity.

A serious method
Creative meditation is a serious method, which has been developed and used over thousands of years by enlightened masters all over the world. Eastern writings such as Patanjali's yoga sutras and Bhagavad Gita present this knowledge, just as the greatest mystics and spiritual figures of the Western World have practised and described it. In present time modern esoteric persons have adapted the methods, so that they suit people of today. Especially the Tibetan master Djwhal Khul has contributed inestimably by the authorship of Alice A. Bailey. For more than three quarters of a century groups and individuals all over the world have followed the directions of the Tibetan master.

Why meditate?

There are many reasons why people become interested in meditation. It is often the need for more harmony and happiness. Or it is a wish of making contact with inner resources and potentials. Or possibly a profound longing for spirituality or divinity. Creative meditation meets these needs, but it also adds a dimension: To become a creative power of the development of life.

For many people the word meditation is associated with relaxation, fantasy journeys and suggestionizing or psychic affecting methods, and the purpose being reducing stress, increasing performance and encouraging greater balance and impact in life. Even though these motives are completely understandable, and the used methods sometimes extremely efficient, Creative meditation is something else and more. Any deeper personal development will sooner or later lead to contact with the soul, which is our true nature. And concurrently with this inner connection being strengthened the meditating individual will be motivated to use his abilities and creativity of benefit to other people.

Creative meditation also makes way for the need of personal development. But at the same time the meditation makes you part of something significant, as you contribute to the growth of unity. You will realize that you have actually not been separated from other people and the world. In you inner essence you are one with all living beings. Consequently personal and spiritual development cannot be separated. If the motive for meditation is only a desire for personal success, any meditation may cause problems, as the meditation's energy inflow overloads the closed system. A system, which is open towards the world, will lead the energy flow out of benefit to the unity. The meditation will reveal that the individual's success is closely connected with the success of others and therefore the qualities and energies are able to circulate between the individual and the world. Creative meditation carefully follows the principles of inner contact (meditation), but it is important to combine the meditation's awareness with introspection (study) and active service (social commitment). Thus the meditative work is always accompanied with an active social commitment, which transforms the qualities of the heart and mind to beneficent service.

How to meditate?

Creative meditation is based on the fact that energy follows the thought. This means that focusing the capacity of thought, introspection of selected subjects and training of visualization and creating mental images are very decisive. To develop this, so that the interplay between soul and personality can be established, a methodical process must commence.

As mentioned before, everything is energy. Just as the body is one type of energy, feelings and thoughts are finer, non-physical energy forms, which can react to the higher energy of the soul. The mind plays a quite central role, as it is the mind power that is able to build the bridge between the personality in the outer and the soul in the inner. The mind is called the interpreter, and the contact to the soul is created through the mind, just as the soul's inspiration and light shine through the mind and out in the outer world. The mind registers, interprets and concretises the impulses coming from within. In this way your thought becomes a creative tool.

The basis for establishing a growing contact with the soul and the spiritual possibilities is that the personality is harmonized. The method is called creating alignment. This means that you bring thoughts, feelings and body "align", so that harmony and co-ordination emerge. The alignment can be done in various ways, but all with the purpose of creating relaxation and focusing of the mind.

The central and dynamic centre of Creative meditation is the concentration phase, where you, step by step, learn to meditate on a specific topic. In Kentaur Net's meditation course you meditate on selected keywords. Keywords can be individual words or sentences. It can also be pictures or descriptions. The keywords can be compared to seeds set to sprout in the mind.

The meditation is concluded with an anchoring, where the attention is gradually turned outwards. It might here be appropriate to finish with a blessing, which sends light to the outside world, and with an inner dedication, where you decide to the let the meditation's effects work in your everyday life.

Creative meditation – for personal and spiritual development

The purpose of the basic meditation: Creative meditation for personal and spiritual developmentis to establish a regular rhythm. Without rhythm – no meditation with this method. First you must create rhythm, hereafter you will gradually but undoubtedly turn into your inner world. And gradually means gradually. There is no short cut in this development process. Therefore we recommend that you work with this part of the course until the rhythm and discipline are firmly established. The rhythm will help you creating stability in your life, and this stability makes it possible for you to handle the meditation's effects and results. It is important to emphasize that it is not Kentaur Net or others, who neither demand nor expect you to create a meditation rhythm. Your meditation is solely a matter between you and your soul.

You will not only learn rhythm. By meditating on a number of central qualities of the soul you will intensify your power of concentration and at the same time build the qualities into your character. We have chosen some of the most central qualities, which Buddha and Christ attached importance to in their lives and teachings. Finally we have based the meditation on the priorities made by Patanjali in the Raja yoga's basic introduction and by the Tibetan master Djwhal Khul's directions in the authorship of Alice A. Bailey. In its totality the twelve keywords thus bring out the fundamental elements of the basic and essential spiritual training. The keywords or qualities are for the first six months, in order:

1. Harmlessness, 2. Truthfulness, 3. Discrimination, 4. Detachment, 5. Happiness, and 6. Sympathy. For the next six months the keywords are: 1. Purity, 2. Content, 3. Impartiality, 4. Serenity, 5. Love and 6. Service.

In this way the meditation will teach you to create harmony with your soul and practise qualities that both you and the world need.

"Creative meditation for personal and spiritual development" is completely fundamental, and does not contain any advanced techniques.
