The globalisation has resulted in a worldwide movement aiming at wholeness and unity. In the field of religion this has created a closer relation between the world religions as described in the passage of The new world religion. Today the Hindus still celebrate their particular festivals and the same could be said about the Buddhists, about the Christians and about other religions. However many people find that there is a common core in all the great world religions and that all those who believe in prayer and in meditation apply to the same ultimate reality. This understanding and current in the collective consciousness is described in the passage of The ageless wisdom. As this all-embracing movement gains more power, the need for a common approach to the deity will be born.

According to the esoteric teaching the religious practice - of the many holistically and spiritually orientated people in all religious relations - will take place about the twelve yearly full moons. The full moon is also very important for the festivals of the traditional religions.

Connected with the first full moon after spring equinox the Christians have placed their greatest festival, the Easter, at the full moon in the sign of Aries (the Ram). The Buddhists greatest festival is the Wesak festival where the birth, the enlightenment and the death of Buddha are celebrated. The Wesak festival coincides with the full moon in the sign of Taurus (the Bull) in the month of April or May.

When great parts of humanity in common at the same time invokes the deity 12-13 times a year a powerfully co-operation between the deity and the humanity will be created. This co-operation will integrate the humanity in the heart of the divine essence and produce a glorious civilization of good human relations.

Meditation at full moon

Nevertheless the Moon isn’t essential for the meditative practice at full moon, but the Sun is. In all cultures the Sun has been object to deep philosophical speculations and religious adoration because it was understood as the preserver of life and the source of light and as the visible expression of the deity. The esoteric tradition confirms that the golden disc of the sun is a living manifestation of the deity in our local part of the cosmos (called Solar Logos ), and a symbol of the universal intelligence that created the world. Spiritual energies flow from the cosmos into our solar system through the Sun and give life to everything – from the smallest atom over human beings to the biggest planetary beings. The flow is most powerful at certain times and during these spaces of time people always has used meditative methods that allow them to benefit fully from these favourable energies.

The solar inflow culminates at certain times of the year, the twelve annual full moon periods are quite central, but the eight solar festivals of the year (solstice, equinox and the quarterly days) are important too. Everywhere on the Earth people are gathered at the hour of full moon consciously wanting to supply the humanity with the currents of solar energies. By meditation they create a telepathic channel from humanity to the spiritual levels and thereby they participate in a direct co-operation between the divinity and the humanity. At this way we - as a group - can anchor the energies of light and love in the collective consciousness, locally as well as globally, when we join in a meditative community.

The Moon reflects the sunlight

The inspirational culmination is due to the fact that the Earth at full moon, during a period of 5 days, is supplied with more spiritual sunlight than at any other time of the month. The entire surface of the Moon is fully illuminated by the sunlight and reflects this to the Earth.

The English theosophist, Alice Bailey, tells us that the enormous being that keep the whole world in his consciousness (called Earth Logos by the theosophists) has his most intensive meditation at the hour of full moon. As we are cells in the consciousness of this being we participate in this meditative climax. The mental work hereby is facilitated and we will be able to meditate more successfully and to obtain inspiration more easily.

Meditation at full moon – how?

Meditations about the hour of full moon are arranged all over the world and this practice gains more and more followers. The meditations of the different groups often vary a great deal and yet they rest on common procedures.

They often use common visualizations as well as a period with meditation on a mind seed, which contains the essence of the month’s energies. Often some common word formulas, which could be the Lord’s Prayer or the Gayatri Mantra , are recited, but frequently the Great Invocation, which also has been called the world prayer of the new religion of the world, is used

This common group meditation could give rise to a group inspiration, which correspond to the intention underlying the visualizations, to the mind seed, to the invocation and to the energies of the month in question. A group meditation is far more efficient than prayers because it combines the devotion of the heart with the determination of the focused mind.

The united minds of the group create a synergetic effect that exceeds the capacity of a single person.

Which energies are we able to receive?

The spiritual festivals on Earth, and among these the annual meditations at full moon, are in their essence based on the science of astrology as the astrologic science is the teaching of the interaction of the energies in the solar system and between all the beings that are found in this solar system. (Divine) service is only another word for the exchange of energies that takes place between man and his creator.

Seen from the Earth the Sun passes, on its course through the space, twelve astrologic constellations that are the manifestation of gigantic cosmic beings. This passage gives rise to twelve annual inflows, which corresponds to the spiritual quality of the astrologic constellation.

The astrologic energies are sent into the solar system by the Sun and are received of the enlightened souls of the Earth, the masters of wisdom, which convert them into thought forms and ideas, that humanity is able to receive. The business of humanity is to contact the ideas and transform them into a creative social engagement.

The appearance of the Kingdom of God on the Earth

According to the esoteric teaching these meditations at full moon form part of a greater Plan for humanity. A Plan intending to establish a spiritual kingdom on the Earth, a kingdom by Christ called the Kingdom of God. The appearance of this kingdom will be a reality when people all over the world open their heart and mind to the qualities of love and wisdom. When we appreciate spiritual and humanitarian values more than the worldly values, when right human relations all over the world and in the social life are our highest aim, we will enter into the Kingdom of God.

The twelve yearly meditations are an essential part of the realization of this Plan. We can – as a group – give rise to a telepathic contact to the enlightened souls and to the heart of the solar system, and through this contact cause a group inspiration that renews not only the individual mind of the participants, but the mind of the entire humanity as well.

The enlightened souls of the Earth can be contacted just at this moment, and the wisdom and the love represented by these souls can be accessible in the human mind.

The telepathic height

When it is asserted that the twelve yearly full moons will be the spiritual festivals of the future, it is based on the experience that the full moon is a telepathic and inspirational height. This information is first and foremost published by Alice Bailey in her works, but it is also confirmed by the newest parapsychological research. (Dean Radin: The Conscious Universe).

The esoteric teaching tells us that the religious practice in the future rather will take starting point in a telepathic contact between humanity and the enlightened souls of the Earth than in a pure emotional approach. Group meditation will replace common prayers, but the devoted aspect will still be a part of the meditation. The access to the divine sphere can be compared with a door. In prayer a person from the bottom of his heart could ask God, Christ, Krishna or other elevated figures to open the door by answering the prayer. The prayer creates a powerful magnetic impulse, which in time could give rise to the wanted effect – an appearance of the invoked. In the past this method was the primary tool to achieve divine contact.

Group meditation based on the power of the thought and on its telepathic function opens in itself the door to the divine life. It works under the law of thought power and is an approved technique in Buddhist as well as in Hindu wisdom, where it among other things is known as Raja yoga .

The groups, which meditate at full moon, are able by themselves to open the door to the divine level by means of a united focused mind, which as a laser beam penetrate into the Kingdom of God where the energies of love and light live.

Service for humanity

This united focused group meditation could cause a group inspiration corresponding to the intention that is in the visualizations, in the mind seed, in the invocation and in the energies of the month in question. Group meditation is much more effective than prayer because it combines the devotion of the heart with the determination of a focused mind.

When humanity in future increasingly uses this invocation, a strong light bridge between humanity and the Kingdom of God, also called the Spiritual Hierarchy, will be created. A light bridge where divine blessing flows into the collective consciousness of humanity and throws light and love on human problems.

Meditation at full moon should be subject to the motive of being at service for humanity and the society. It is therefore important that you behave as impersonally as possible, because the purpose is to be instrumental in bringing a collective impulse about to humanity and to anchor it locally. However, it is important to emphasize that the most essential task is individually to realize the ideas received at full moon. It is on ordinary days the motives must stand the test and it is in the local environment the effect of the full moon work must be realized in practice.

The spiritual heights of the future

The twelve yearly meditations will at time be the most important festivals of the new spirituality. In the future all the people, which are spiritually orientated and which put the welfare of humanity above religious dogmas, will be gathered at these festivals. When the many groups all over the world in common with a common motive at the same time invoke the divine, it will cause a flow of love and wisdom, which forever will establish a living exchange between the Kingdoms of Light and Love and the physical world.

When humanity in the future more and more will use this invoking activity a strong light bridge between humanity and the Kingdom of God, also called the enlightened souls, will be created. A light bridge where divine blessing flows into the collective consciousness of humanity and throw light an love on the human problems.

Five days of full moon flow

The full moon period covers a period of five days. Two days for preparation, one day for receipt and two for distribution and registration.

The two first days are known as “days of renunciation and independence”. Her you try to give up all that prevents the ability to work as a channel for the spiritual. If the days should be optimal – seen from an ideal point of view - it should be days with intensive preparation, where you look inwards. The group aim at being trustful having the aspiration directed towards the enlightened souls of the Earth. This will harmonize thoughts, emotions and the spiritual.

This phase of concentration goes off in the middle of your usual activities, which are done without loosing the inner aspiration or focus. It is more a question of an inner attitude than of an outer activity. It is an exercise that trains a double lifestyle – a life in outer activity parallel to an inner intensive spiritual orientation.

The day of full moon

The day of full moon, it is the 24 hours before the moment of full moon, is known as “the day of preservation and protection”. On the day itself our task is to receive as much of the flowing energies as we can hold, preserve and protect up to the two subsequent days. From 12 hours before and up to the exact moment of full moon it is possible telepathically to contact some Masters of the spiritual hierarchy. They have for that special purpose set time aside for contact with the members of humanity, which search for contact at this particular moment. Alice A. Bailey tells us that we should hold the full moon service inside the 18 hours previous to the exact moment of full moon including the exact moment. It is of course not realistic to expect that people will arrive in the middle of the night, if the full moon is exact at this moment. Then it is up to the dedicated groups that are able to meditate at the moment of full moon to use the available energy and profit from that whirl of power, which is developed previous during the public meetings, and in that way the groups can combine the public strong demand for peace and light with the endeavour of the spiritual Hierarchy.

The day of full moon is a day of quiet, first and foremost an inner stillness which must be kept in the middle of the everyday activities. It is important that you don’t have concrete expectations of what you could receive, but keep a free and sympathetic attitude. Expectations could obstruct the registration of ideas. The groups, which are able to meditate at the exact moment of full moon, of course must aim at this.

Days for distribution

The two following days are known as “days for distribution”, and is the period where you try to record the inspiration in your brain. The process often is very slow, because it is very difficult for the brain to register the inspirations of the soul by reason of an insufficient coordination of the different areas of the consciousness.

The two days for distribution is a period, where you concrete, formulate and distribute the energies and the ideas that you have received. You also have to register and collect the impressions you have received during the five days where the full moon energies are at their height. Afterwards you could discuss the ideas with the people with whom you work together every day, whether they meditate or not. Of course, you don’t need to tell, that you have received the good ideas during full moon service, this isn’t important. Many people will respond to loving and intelligent ideas.

The three great festivals and the nine minor

The esoteric teaching tells us that the development of life is subject to rhythm and cycles. In other words there is a time for ebb and a time for flow in the outer world as well as in the inner world. The alternating seasons of the nature are a well-known phenomenon, but the existence of spiritual rhythms is unknown to many people. The knowledge of these varied spiritual flows makes meditation at full moon a custom, which is based on a scientific and empirical practice.

We are told that the year just as the months have a peak phase, in which the spiritually practising man can take his starting point. This peak phase coincide with the three full moons in the sign of Aries (the Ram) the sign of Taurus (the Bull) and the sign of Gemini (the Twins) in the period from March to June.

These three festivals are moments, in which the telepathically responsive groups can recognize the divine intentions of the next year. It also is the time where the relation between humanity and the deity is closest, and where the flow of light, of love and of the will to do the good things is prevailing. In this period humanity have special tasks: to search contact, to be inspired and to plan the spiritual activities of the next year in order to improve human relations.

The nine minor full moons are the periods where the groups try to integrate the divine qualities in their work. In these periods the groups endeavour to realize the divine plan and to make the special qualities, which are given humanity from the astrological signs, a part of their personal equipment

Now we will give you a short introduction to the three great festivals, but it is not possible to give a complete description of the twelve months to reasons of space.

The Easter – the Festival of Life

The full moon in the sign of Aries is close to the great Christian Easter festival, and the entry of the Sun into the sign of Aries coincides with the vernal equinox, where the light lasts longer than the dark. In this way the Easter is a light festival, where we celebrate the new life that pours into the collective consciousness giving new life to the nature and to the human consciousness as well. In nature we are able to observe this energy of life, but the same vitalizing and releasing quality could be experienced in the inner level, where old outlived thought forms and ideas can be transformed.

The Easter is the festival for the living and risen Christ, which is the leader of the spiritual Hierarchy, and the same figure, which is connected with the Messiah of the Jews, the Maitreya of the Buddhists, the Krishna of the Hindus and the Imam Mahdi of the Moslems.

For many years the Christians have accentuated the crucified suffering Christ, which has shrouded the Easter in sorrow and despair. Nowadays we should emphasize the resurrection of Christ, the victory of love over the dark. The Easter is a festival of joy, where we can look forward to the resurrection of life in every human heart. The only life, which are beating in all hearts, search in this month - and in particular during the Easter - release and resurrection to a more abundant life. Love, which causes resurrection, is the name of the quality that brings hope to everybody in this time.

During the Easter it is possible to call upon a great spiritual being called the Spirit of Resurrection, which works through Christ. This gigantic solar being gives rise to a number of qualities, which fortify the will of life and the will to do the good things. These qualities could, if humanity in an active way call upon them and bring them about, create a mental renewal that releases from collective anxiety and fear. Especially fear of death could be released through this life-giving flow, which offers a possibility to recognize the spiritual world with which humanity is connected being a part of it.

These regenerating powers, which are effected by the Spirit of Resurrection, will especially stimulate humanity’s ability to think in new ways. They are able to stimulate the principle of intelligence in all people all over the world and cause new visions. This will give people a renewed ability to think, plan and act on their spiritual inclinations.

The sign of Aries is called the birthplace of ideas, because it is in this sign that the first germ (idea) of a new vision comes out. In the individual level the life energy of the month could set the inner
warrior free in such a way that the courage and the ability to fight for what we believe in are strengthened.

The Easter, and the period in the sign of Aries, is to a high degree a mental preparation to the Wesak festival, where we can receive the informative energies of Buddha . It is the time for new orientation, where new visions are sensed, and the light from the East is ready to break through.

The Wesak Festival

Buddha Wesak

The full moon of May in the sign of Taurus coincides with the great oriental festival, theWesak, where the East celebrate the birth, the illumination and the death of Buddha . According to an old legend, by esoteric interested people regarded as the truth, Buddha every year appears in a little valley (Wesak) in the Himalayas emerging from the spiritual spheres in order to bless humanity. He shows in order to deliver the divine intentions from Shamballa , the centre where the divine intentions are known. Christ and his disciples are physically present in the valley together with monks and nuns from the surrounding monasteries. At the exact moment of full moon they receive the blessing from the very highest level on behalf of the Hierarchy and humanity. During the Wesak festival the three great spiritual centres of the Earth – humanity, the Hierarchy and Shamballa – are connected by the united efforts of Buddha and Christ. This contact sends a flood of illumination into the collective consciousness.

Buddha’s task as a bearer of divine will and divine intention creates an intensive spiritual atmosphere during the five days of the Wesak festival. Therefore this event is considered to be the spiritual height of the year. The will of God – to us incomprehensible – is reduced to ideas and visions containing the plan for the next year. Meditation groups all over the world are gathered at this moment in order to take part in anchoring these energies of wisdom and illumination and thereby take part in the great plan.

The main purpose of the illumination- energies is to influence all the persons, which form the public opinion and way of thinking, so that the understanding of the people is deepened and the ability of the people to realize the vision of right human relations is improved. Especially the great educational systems and the worldwide network of the media are influenced by the energies of illumination. They can reach the consciousness of the masses and there anchor new human values, which will lead us from the darkness into the light.

In the month of Aries and during the Easter chiefly the mental sphere is stimulated. In the month of Taurus the energies are lead to the emotional sphere stimulating the values based on emotions. This creates the power, which secure that the visions take form on ordinary days. We will not get a better world, if we can’t set going the emotional commitment. The full moon energies of Taurus ensure this.

Buddha obtained illumination in this month and showed us the way out of desire. He briefly told us that all suffering arise from desire. He emphasized that the way out of suffering could happen as a consequence of some new spiritual values, which will direct our many material desires towards higher spiritual aims, so that the material desires finally will wipe out. During this process our materialistic and egoistic desires gradually will be replaced by the desire for spiritual development

Wisdom and illumination are the key qualities of this month, where the energies of illumination are at their height. We are able to perceive the purpose of the soul for the next year, and development of new values that decisively break with selfish motives is a possibility.

The Festival of GoodWill

The full moon in the sign of Gemini (the Twins) is also called the Festival of GoodWill and is a festival for humanity. This is the time of the year where humanity as a spiritual centre on the Earth celebrates the unity of mankind and affirms its part as intelligence centre of our planet. The task of humanity is to put God’s will into practice. Our efforts to create good human relations carry this intention. Christ receives as a representative of humanity the energies build during the previous two months and distributes them to people of good will. During the previous two months the energies primarily was focused in the mental and the emotional level, now these qualities can be completely expressed in the physical level.

In this month the energy of love reaches its height, and the ability to create new relations between people and between humanity and the Hierarchy is consolidated. The higher purpose of love is to create relations, relations that exceed races, sex and different attitudes. In the new age the task for all people of good will will be to work for human unity and to avoid actions that will lead to further distance between men. The aim is unity in diversity. This could be reached through development of new human networks, formation of groups and international conferences, which will strengthen accept of the many cultural and religious differences, which are ripples of the one ocean.

The sign of the Twins give rise to openness in the communication that makes possible, that we can overcome the many human differences by use of intelligent love. In this period there are many possibilities to enlarge and to establish new contacts and new connexions, which could strengthen our public commitment.

All these ideas are summarized in the new world prayer of the new world religion also called the Great Invocation. This invocation of divine light, divine love and divine power could be the strongest integral factor in the development of humanity, if many people use it. The power is based on the spiritual lawfulness, that energy follows the thought. You could understand it in this way: when humanity sends out an appeal for divine intervention, the spiritual powers must answer. The full moon in the month of the Twins are therefore called the Day of the World Invocation, because in this day humanity in common can give expression to their common intention using the Great Invocation. By this we invite you to use this prayer every day and at all special festivals.
